U.S. Savings Bond

U.S. Savings Bonds Ad from the 1940s

US Savings Bond ad

Ad replayed from 1949

Above is an ad from the late 1940s of U.S. Savings bonds and they still exist today! That’s right. You can still buy US Savings Bonds today and they will pay you interest if you keep them long enough. The interest they pay is different and is tied into inflation. Also there is a minimum time period to hold the bonds before you can get any return on your money.

Like then, US Savings bonds are a good bet. Also you don’t pay taxes on them until you cash them in. For more information go to the government website here. As of 2012 Savings Bonds have gone digital. Explore the Bonds through the timeline on their site.
